3. How would you describe Riverbend’s goals as a writer? Offer evidence to support.
Riverbends goals as a writer, to me, are to enlighten her audience. Throughout Riverbends blog she makes sure to expel any sort of fallacies that she is handed. Whether it’s the lies about the Iraqi people themselves, their government or their current living situations she makes sure to be completely honest with her reader and tell them the truth, or at least her version of it. Throughout Riverbends blog she cuts down the lies about Iraqi’s hating Americans, shows her American readers just how horrible the situation she is living in truly is and shows the chaos in a way that really makes you relate to her, as long as you have an open mind. She shows us all just how dimwitted we are for believing the Bush administration about the situation over there and makes you truly realize that the people in Iraq are just like us. They’re scared, hopeful and just praying for a new, brighter future.
